I’m not sure what it is, but I like these more than most Orgoth I’ve seen - including the studio paintjobs.
Its definitely the background, thanks though. Im.glad you like them. But i think Eriks blow mine out of the water. 
I’m not versed in painting terminology, nor am I good at painting period, but I feel like these look more raw/realistic and the studio NMM (is it ?) style (which is beautiful by the way) feels more processed ? I don’t know, but these are more my style.
