It's WIP Wednesday!

Post anything and everything you’re working on, in whatever stage it’s in! We won’t riot too much if you post on not a Wednesday

For me today, I’ve got a celestial fulcrum and a unit of wold shrimp primed and ready to paint up in any free time I end up having this week (Ha!) Hoping to have two 100pt lists painted for Rocky top! Wish me luck, I’ve got a ways to go!

I’m working on Fire of Salvation, I’ve spent too many games with a Sanctifier proxy. It’s badly primed, but I’m looking forward to having it done! (Yes I paint, then assemble, especially with a model with lots of details and tight spaces.)

I also have a Vassal of Menoth and a squad of Exemplars (not pictured) primed and ready to start basecoating.

Love this idea.

I’ve got more WIP than I care to admit but most recently I’ve been working on Piggybacks. Not sure I’m happy with the skin tone yet, this is like the third attempt.

I’m working on some objective markers. I used up some leftover bits from various armies

If it makes you feel better, I subassemble too! It breaks a big project down into much more manageable chunks imo, with the added benefit of making each chunk easier to paint. The only downside is you commit to having it painted before it goes back on the table

What’s next stages you think? Like, what would you like to be different from where it’s at now?

I dunno, I’m not sure if I’m happy with the skin tone. I never really had a good idea of how I wanted the skin to look going in so I’ve just ended up doing it and redoing it a few times lol

Did some bits on myTyrant. It feels good to get a small bit of completion with these things!

I think it looks good if a little flat right now. I don’t really know how to describe what I’m seeing, maybe it just needs a little more color contrast or depth? Don’t exactly know how to put words to what I mean

Putting together Stryker3 and some Stormcallers tonight.

Finished off these Silverline Stormguard too

Trying to catch up on all the Legacy stuff that I snagged on blowout after the MkIV announce that let me live out my dreams of running everything before more of the new stuff comes out. Heh.

Just finished the frog friends. On to wrong eye next

Originally they were more standard flesh colored and then I was trying to shade with that pinker mix and didn’t like it so I did them entirely in pink lol

I’ve been in a general paint slump lately. Wasn’t able to paint for a few months because we were moving and by the time I got a space set up and went to paint I felt like I couldn’t get anything right, which is why I was like “maybe if I paint a unit it’ll be easier than painting a detailed solo”. Not sure that plan worked out for me lol

lol I definitely get the paint slump. Part of the reason for this post was for me to try and work through mine

Friend of mine suggested painting terrain or an objective marker to help with the slump, something that doesn’t get the same amount of scrutiny as a figure.

Went pretty well I think, and it was a nice reminder that paint jobs can look pretty bleh until the last few strokes really pull it together.

Made some progress on my fulcrum last night. Just some heavy drybrushing and the beginnings of the panel line work

I wished I knew oil washes back In the days I painted my fulcrum. That would have saved me a lot of painful ours painting all those runes.:slightly_smiling_face:
