The defences card in the app has the selection of defences in a numbered order. Does this order dictate which defence you have to put down 1st, 2nd 3rd or is it just a pool of defences you can draw from during defence placement?

I assumed that the ordered didn’t matter, but if you only had 2, you didn’t get your pick 3.
But I only learnt yesterday that you picked them at list creation time…

Nothing in the “Defenses” rule says you have to place them in a particular order.
The “Defense 1”, “Defense 2”, etc. layout is undoubtedly there just for ease-of-use purposes.
(This would be the equivalent of claiming “This warjack appears in the list first, therefore it must activate first.”)
